The Janus Charity Challenge is a unique fundraising program designed to help add more depth and meaning to an athlete's Ironman experience while making a world of difference in the lives of others. We look forward to seeing our accomplishments in our 10th Anniversary year!
The momentum of this program continues to amaze us, and last season was no exception. In 2009, our athletes brought in more than $6.7 million at seven full-distance Ironman races. At the Ironman Coeur d'Alene, two athletes, Jim Yanoschik and Brian Carroll, each raised over $1 million dollars for their respective charities - a program first. With these successes, the Janus Charity Challenge has now raised more than $40 million. 2010 marks the Janus Charity Challenge's 10th Anniversary and we hope it will be our most successful year yet.
We know an athlete’s top priority is the race itself. Through the Janus Charity Challenge friends, family members and colleagues can all be an active participant in their athletes’ Ironman journey. The program was designed to be simple and effective. Athletes are encouraged to find as many people as possible to support their fundraising efforts.
Blackbaud will continue to be the web-based system provider for our program. Please note that Blackbaud will withhold $1.76 per transaction for processing plus 2.59% in credit card processing fees from all donations made online.
As a reflection of our commitment to the program and the athlete’s efforts, Janus makes additional contributions to the beneficiaries of the 50 top fundraisers at each race in the following amounts:
1st Place Individual : $10,000 donation
2nd Place Individual : $8,000 donation
3rd Place Individual : $6,000 donation
4th Place Individual : $4,000 donation
5th Place Individual : $2,000 donation
The beneficiaries of the next 30 highest fundraisers who raise a minimum of $750.00 will receive an additional contribution of $750.00 from Janus.
The beneficiaries of the next 15 highest fundraisers who raise a minimum of $100.00 will receive an additional contribution of $100.00 from Janus.
